Privacy Policy
How CompressMP4.org handles local video compression and privacy.
Last updated: 2026-06-30
Overview
CompressMP4.org is a browser-based MP4 compression tool. It is designed so your selected video is processed locally in your browser.
Videos You Select
When you choose an MP4 file, the file is read by your browser and processed with a local WebAssembly video engine. We do not upload your video to our servers for compression.
The compressed output is generated in your browser and offered as a download. Closing the tab clears the in-memory working files created by the page.
Information We May Receive
The website may receive ordinary web request information needed to serve the page, such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and time of request. This is standard hosting traffic data and is not the video content you select.
We do not require an account to use the compressor.
Local Storage and Offline Cache
The site may use browser cache and a service worker so the app shell and video engine can reopen after the first load. This cache stores site assets, not your selected videos.
You can clear this data through your browser settings at any time.
Cookies and Analytics
The public compressor page does not need cookies for video compression. If analytics are added in the future, they should not include your video files or file contents.
Third Parties
Video compression runs in your browser. Hosting providers may process standard request logs when delivering the website files.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. The updated date above shows the latest revision.
