Compress toward a strict file-size limit

Target MB mode now treats the value you enter as a maximum instead of a loose estimate. Before compression starts, the tool checks whether the target is realistic for the video's duration and explains when you should raise the limit, shorten the clip, or lower its resolution.

Start from the limit you already know

New focused tools cover common 20 MB, 25 MB, 50 MB, and 100 MB limits, along with a flexible target-size video compressor and a workflow for email attachments. Each page opens the same local compression experience with guidance for that specific limit or use case.

Resize the canvas as well as the file

The video resizer adds aspect-ratio and platform presets, custom dimensions, crop, fit and pad modes, frame-rate controls, and an optional target file size. The preview shows the intended canvas before the browser exports a new MP4.

Compress video without uploading it

CompressMP4 started as a focused browser tool for making an MP4 smaller. Choose a video from your device, set a reduction target, run the compressor in the current tab, and save the new MP4 when it is ready.

The selected video stays on your device during processing. There is no account requirement and no server upload queue.

Choose a practical output size

The first release included percentage-based targets and an estimated output size, so you could work toward an email, chat, form, or storage limit without configuring video codecs by hand.
