Compress video for Gmail on your device, then download a smaller MP4 for your message.
24 MB starting preset · Adjust for other attachments and recipient limits.
Compress video
The video compressor creates a new MP4 download.
Use percentage for an approximate reduction, or enter MB for a strict maximum file size.
Compress video with no server upload
Your selected video is processed on your device, not sent to a compression server.
Compress by percentage or target MB
Choose roughly how small the MP4 should be. The compressor accepts smaller results instead of chasing an exact file size.
Load online, process locally
Keep a connection available to load the page and video engine. Local processing does not guarantee offline access.
Official Gmail attachment notes
Check your Gmail attachment allowance
Choose between a direct file and a sharing link based on the total attachment size, your account rules and the detail the recipient needs. A preset cannot check those rules for you.
Personal Gmail: 25 MB total attachments
Google lists a 25 MB total attachment limit for personal Gmail. The 24 MB preset leaves some room, but subtract other attachments and consider the recipient's limit too.
Larger attachments become Drive links
The same official Gmail help says files over the total attachment limit are removed as attachments and added to the email as Google Drive links.
Workspace depends on edition and admin settings
Google announced admin-configurable 50 MB attachments for Enterprise Plus. That is not a universal work or school limit; confirm the setting available to your account.
A Gmail video compressor with adjustable size
To compress video for Gmail, choose a target that fits the space left after your other attachments. Keep the original and review the downloaded copy before sending.
Start at 24 MB, then adjust
The 24 MB preset is a starting value, not a delivery guarantee. Lower it when other attachments or a smaller recipient allowance leave less room.

How to compress video for Gmail
Prepare the file here, then attach the download in Gmail. No connection to your Google account is needed for compression.
Choose the video you want to attach
Select MP4, M4V, MOV, WebM or MKV. The tracks inside must be readable by your browser or the fallback engine. Keep the original for later edits.
Leave room for every attachment
Subtract the other files from your available attachment budget, then enter a smaller video target. Use the stricter limit when the recipient has less room than your Gmail account.
Compress and compare the result
Run the Gmail video compressor with this tab open. Check the displayed output size and any warning before saving the file; a target is not an exact-byte result.
Attach the saved MP4 in Gmail
Open your Gmail draft, choose the attachment icon, and select the downloaded MP4. Check the combined attachment size before sending. This tool does not send the message for you.
Send a Gmail attachment or share a Drive link
Use an attachment for a short, readable clip
A brief demonstration or update can work as a direct file when the total attachments fit. Preview the compressed copy first; smaller is not useful if the important text or motion is lost.
Use Drive when the full recording matters
A sharing link can preserve a long recording without forcing it into a tiny attachment. Check that the intended recipient has access and follow any work or school sharing restrictions.
Follow your work or school rules
Workspace limits can differ by edition and administrator settings. Confirm your actual allowance and the recipient requirements before raising the preset; a larger sending limit does not guarantee delivery.
